Under Rs 40,000 you are buying a phone for calls, WhatsApp, YouTube, banking apps and a decent photo now and then. You will not get flagship speed, but you can still get a big battery, a smooth screen and years of use, if you pick carefully. These are the phones we suggest at our Hafeez Centre shop for this budget. Prices are KARTiN prices in October 2026; all phones are PTA Approved.
Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000
- Samsung Galaxy A07 (Rs 37,500): Helio G99, 50MP camera, IP54 and six years of Android upgrades. Our first pick.
- Infinix SMART 20 (Rs 39,999): 5200mAh battery and a 120Hz screen.
- TECNO Spark Go 3 (Rs 38,999): 5000mAh, and the infrared blaster works as a TV or AC remote.
- itel City 200 (Rs 36,499): IP65, a good choice if the phone will see dust and rain.
- vivo Y05E, Redmi A7 Pro and realme C100i, all around Rs 37,500 to Rs 38,000.
Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000
- realme Note 60x (Rs 32,999)
- ZTE nubia A56 (Rs 30,999)
Under Rs 30,000
- ZTE nubia A36 (Rs 29,000)
- itel A100C (Rs 25,999)
- ZTE Blade A35 (Rs 21,999): the cheapest smartphone we stock, fine as a first phone or a backup.
Three tips for this budget
- Get at least 64GB, ideally 128GB. WhatsApp media fills small phones fast, and a full phone feels slow.
- Prefer a known chipset. The Helio G99 in the Galaxy A07 is a proven, efficient chip.
- Count updates, not megapixels. A phone that gets security updates for years is safer for banking apps.
If you can stretch to Rs 50,000, read best phones under Rs 50,000, where batteries jump to 6000 to 7000mAh.
